Community Pantry

By House of Sadaqa

Providing essential long-life food support to individuals and families facing financial hardship – with dignity, safety, and consistency.

Our Mission

The Community Pantry exists to ensure that no individual or family has to face food insecurity alone. We provide access to essential, long-life food items for people experiencing financial hardship – supporting food security, dignity, safety, and stability through a consistent, community-led support system.

This is not emergency relief.

This is structured, ongoing community care.

Built on dignity.

Delivered with compassion.

Sustained through community generosity.

How You Can Support

Your donations directly help individuals and families access essential food items they need to live safely and with dignity.

Whether you donate one item or many, your contribution matters.

Acceptable Donations

We accept non-perishable food items only, including staple carbohydrates such as rice, pasta, flour, oats, couscous, and noodles; shelf-stable proteins like canned chickpeas, lentils, beans, tuna, sardines, salmon, halal canned chicken or beef, peanut butter, dried lentils and split peas; canned and jarred vegetables including tomatoes, mixed vegetables, corn, peas, carrots, beetroot and olives; canned and dried fruits such as fruit in juice, dates, sultanas, apricots and apple sauce; cooking essentials like small bottles of cooking oil, salt, pepper, stock cubes and basic spices; and breakfast items including cereal, long-life (UHT) milk, tea and coffee.

Donation Guidelines:

All donations must be non-perishable, unopened, and in their original packaging, with a minimum of three months remaining before expiry. Items must be clearly labelled with ingredients and allergens, and all food must be halal.

For safety and dignity reasons, we are unable to accept fresh, frozen, or home-cooked food, opened or repackaged items, products expiring within three months, alcohol, pork or non-halal products, supplements, or medications.
