Volunteer With House of Sadaqa

House of Sadaqa runs on the generosity of people who give their time. Our volunteers sort donations, pack essentials, support families on their hardest days, and keep our programs moving. If you want to make a real difference in your own community, there is a place for you here.

Why volunteer with us

Volunteering with House of Sadaqa is hands-on and local. You see exactly where your effort goes: a family restarting a home, a person on the street receiving a warm meal and clothing, a young person finding mentorship and direction. It is meaningful work, done alongside a warm community, and you can give as much or as little time as suits you.

Ways to get involved

  • Warehouse sorting and packing. Sort donated clothing and goods, and pack essentials packs for families in need.
  • Clothe the Homeless runs. Join our street outreach, handing out clothing, sleeping bags, and essentials with dignity and care.
  • Family Support Program. Help prepare and deliver whitegoods, furniture, and household essentials to families in crisis.
  • Ansar Youth Program. Support our structured program for young men, from mentoring to activities.
  • Events and fundraising. Lend a hand at community events and campaigns throughout the year.
  • Goodwill Shop. Volunteer in our op-shops in Revesby and Bankstown.
  • Admin and drivers. Help behind the scenes with data and coordination, or with pickups and deliveries if you have a licence.

Clear a fine while you help: WDO volunteering

House of Sadaqa is an approved Work and Development Order sponsor. If you have unpaid fines with Revenue NSW and are experiencing hardship, supervised volunteering with us may count toward clearing that debt. Learn more on our Work and Development Orders page.

Who can volunteer

Everyone is welcome. Whether you are a student building experience, a professional with a few hours to spare, or someone who simply wants to give back, we will find a role that fits. Most roles are suited to those aged 18 and over, and some youth opportunities are available through our programs. No experience is needed for many roles, just a willingness to help.
