Which machine should you use?
- EcoWash, 14 kg. A regular household load, roughly two full baskets.
- MaxiWash, 20 kg. A big family load, or bedding for a couple of beds.
- UltraWash, 28 kg. Doonas, blankets, curtains and the bulky things a home machine cannot handle.
The large machines are the real advantage of a laundromat. Washing a queen doona at home usually means overloading a machine that cannot cope. Here it is one cycle.
Where the profits go
The Goodwill Laundry is a social enterprise of House of Sadaqa. Profits are reinvested into local charity programs, including the Family Support Program, which helps families in crisis with the essentials they need to restart a home. The laundromat also uses eco-friendly detergents.
It is the same principle behind our other businesses: you were going to spend the money anyway, so it may as well do something on the way through.
